In case you haven’t noticed, today would have been Michael Jackson’s 51st birthday. With the social media revolution in full swing, it’s a no-brainer that Google would replace their logo today with something related to the King of Pop. I think it says something about our culture that Google chose to honor him in this way on the same day Senator Edward M. Kennedy is laid to rest. I’m not saying it’s good or bad, but just a glimpse our culture through Google’s home page. I’m sure Google had this planned before the senator passed away, so I’m not really bothered by it. Some people seem to have a very polarizing position in one way or another.
