It’s May the 4th, 2010. Here’s to everyone who, as little kids back in 1977, we thought by now we’d be zooming around on our own landspeeders or at least shooting laser guns and hanging out with our own protocol droids. All I have so far is an iPhone and an iPad. Even if I had the Segway I have my eye on, it wouldn’t add up to those dreams of an 8 year old watching the very first Star Wars at the theater.

Even though we still have to walk places and can’t jump into hyperspace, I encourage you to do something today that you never thought you could do. Do something you’ve been meaning to do. Do something that moves you toward your dream. Do something.

Remember, the Force Will Be With You… Always.

From the dining room this morning, my wife started screaming YES!!!

I was trying to wake up the boys and ran to see what was going on. She was on the internet checking our bank account. Today we close on our house and she was trying to figure out if we had the money we needed for the cashier’s check. She was smiling ear to ear as she swirled the chrome neck of the old school iMac around to show me the balance in our account. It was $1,800 more than she had expected. Our Federal Government Stimulus Package arrived sometime during the wee hours of the morning. We have two boys and qualified for the $1,800 amount. The timing on this is so incredible! We now have more than enough to close on our house and buy the paint and supplies we were planning on getting. I know some people have been against the stimulus payments, but we’re certainly glad to get this – especially at this time.

We are excited to see what God has in store for us as we continue to put down roots and settle in to the work He has for us here in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

This has already been quite a stimulating morning and it’s only 7 a.m.

I’ve been away for too long. Sorry about that. It’s just that moving to Arkansas, starting a new job and a small company have taken a LOT of time. I’m talking about 21-hours-a-day-for-8-weeks kind of time. I’m so honored to be working for a church and to do meaningful projects with emotional impact. It’s been a long transition and I feel that I’ve finally turned the corner. I’m joining a gym next week and taking back my life, my family, my health, and my dreams. I am so blessed to have so many creative, passionate people around me now. I’m building relationships and making friends every day. It’s kind of weird to not be a part of the Chickasaw Nation festival and this whole big week prior to Governor’s annual state of the nation. I’m truly going to miss the activity and fun. I did have a small hand in some designs, etc. so I’ll definitely be there in spirit.
